Beads Time

Anvil #24 :  The number wasn't taken and since it was my birthday....
Just like the real world, our view of the internet is pretty much dominated by sites usually in our  own language. If you are multilingual,  a lot more doors are open when searching...

I certainly don't speak Russian. Well, not yet.  Since the start, there's more in my stash that came from Russia than all the other countries put together within my collection. Logic says if such great craftsmanship comes from there, surely there must be other nice things too... and so the search begins...

Found!-- I was grinning like a kid at the candy store when I first clicked on the site. Normally I'm not into having too many accessories, yet the level of detail and cool ideas Eugene infuses into his work... well, let's just say I am totally sold even before contacting him.

Was really more than just happy to see an anvil like this because it is something of much significance to me. Yes many of my desires are not lavish. Often just small little things in life.. simple but meaningful in some ways. For many years I have always been thinking to myself-- "How come no one makes an anvil bead or a 3D anvil pendant.... "

Why an anvil? .....

[[ U of T... in front of the computer terminals...]]
The year -1994, if anyone can remember... Mosaic browser... one of the earliest browser the world has seen.. and yes, yours truly rubbed shoulders with those next door computer nerds and became one of the very first early adopter of the Internet... . Of course it would look absolutely bland by today's standard. 8 bit audio,. Never mind videos, there's hardly even pictures on the net back then... Yes porn is largely still in the realm of magazines and VHS in North America those days...

Wasn't long before I had to create a username for something somewhere even during this period of net infancy .... hence the birth of "anvil_den".

Big, fat, Small, Tall,  One Moniker Rules 'em All

>>>> fast forward 2015, today >>>>
...21 years is a long time. Yes, through good and tough times, symbolic of an anvil persisting under the pressure of hard hitting hot iron upon it's surface day after day...I have kept this very username across my entire virtual existence right up till now.....

This anvil together with another quarter century old bit.... my silver  tattoo gun pendant.. are probably gonna be the most valuable trinkets. It's really all about memories.

What's better than one bead?   Why, TWO Of Course!

Well why not more then...   I look up the process of how these beads are made, saw more pics of work in progress by the maker himself on Instagram. It is a lot of work, sure we can always be greedy and want everything but that would really dull things rapidly. For me it is also a process, chatting up  with people, understanding the things they do and learning along the way to better appreciate things and building up friendships.

There's a number of really awesome custom one off beads but it would not be nice to even ask someone if they will make them again. There's a reason why these are called "1 of 1 custom".

Then again the idea of some killer looking skull chugging a stoogie was already permanently wired in my neural network after seeing the Cuba Libre piece. With that gone, none fits the bill better than Truckie, which fortunately aren't a made to order custom piece.  A customized Cigar Trucker it is then for me! I wanted to work on  full on custom piece, but as said.. let's not be hasty and take all the excitement away so fast...

Cigar Truckie: 21 gm of pure Badassery

"...better start running bro! think we're really screwed this time."
...and my imagination running wild. Momentarily transported back to childhood days of little plastic toy soldiers........

Surprise surprise... one more piece must have decided to hide itself with the anvil and take a plane ride to Singapore... Took me a while to figure out what it was and how to use it :)

But for the moment in front of the camera lens, it look like something else...

Empress Dowager

I'm already trying to think of what my next bead is gonna be... hmmmm

Here's the link on  Instagram for those that are interested
